Where's lunch?' she said." Indeed, the city mouse, who is bedecked in jewels, looks positively peaked as she sprawls uncomfortably on her cousin's rustic couch. PreSchool-Grade 2 In this humorous version of the familiar fable, Stevens has brought her two mice into modern-day America and given each mouse a distinctive personality. The city mouse, resplendent in blue beads, ring necklace and earring hat, is matched by the charming country mouse, outfitted in a red gingham shirt closed with one gigantic button. Neither mouse is particularly pleased with the other's way of life, and each freely expresses such opinions. Stevens' colorful watercolors, with her clever use of size perspective, add to the overall effect. This version will be enjoyed by young children as will Lorinda Bryan Cauley's version (Putnam, 1984), which is a softer, more traditional telling. A Cute book to read

It's basically about when a town mouse and a country mouse go to each others house and they find uniqe designs that make each mouse made to fit there house. The town mouse lives in a city with cars driving by all of the time. The country mouse lives on a ranch. I think that it was a funny book and the ending was great.
